THE CENTER OF GRAVITY FOR ENTREPRENEURS IN TEXAS
Anthony Blatner heads up the Austin iPhone Developer Meetup. They’re here because both Austin and iOS are awesome. We meet monthly to network, present education content, showcase apps and work, discuss iOS development, and share tip and tricks, while helping each other through bugs.
Why did you begin organizing this Meetup?
I was an active member for a long time and asked to take it over. I’ve really enjoyed running the group and meeting so many local developers — we have a great group. Mobile is one of my favorite areas, and it’s fun curating content that I’m personally interested in, and that I know the group is as well.
What do you do when you aren’t organizing Meetups, professionally or in your free time?
I enjoy running (training for the Austin marathon), going to music festivals (preparing for TomorrowWorld), and sitting in Austin traffic.
What are you looking forward to most in the 2015 Austin tech and startup scene?
SXSW is always my favorite week (and a half) of the year, and this year was no exception. I love seeing events that are uniquely Austin (big fan of
the Startup Crawl), and we’re looking to keep bringing more events for mobile.
What do you love about hosting at Capital Factory?
Capital Factory is known for startup tech in Austin, and our group is all about that. Everyone is familiar with CF and many of our members work here or with organizations in CF, so it makes for the perfect place to hold our events.
Do you attend any other Meetups besides your own?
I think I’ve joined nearly every Austin Meetup group, and I have the spam email to prove it.
What do you love about living in Austin?
The vibe — Austin is a great city with great people. There’s tons of opportunity, and optimistic, motivated people working on awesome things. I love being involved in it.
