WHAT | Come meet comrades who also have a foot in both worlds of art and tech. Come prepared for anything from DJ brunches to interactive tours, jokes on Periscope, co-creating on Vine, Snapchat interviews, hacking for humanity, ‘gramming for our tastebuds, teaching & learning among likeminds, performing & seeing shows, telling stories, & dancing til you drop

Come ready to explore, discover & boogie. Voguing with Kinect could happen. Twerking in wearable technology may be encouraged. So invite that friend making holograms in their basement. Introduce us to your new favorite streaming toy or app. Show us your latest art x science project. WHO | Your host is electronic arts nonprofit Protos Festival’s founder Andria Benet. Protos is Austin’s first official electronic arts nonprofit festival & web series showcasing art and technology in Austin since 2013. Protos features dialogue, demos, workshops, panels, pop-ups, performances & more. The inaugural festival in Spring of 2013 & the “Art + Tech Labs” event in late 2014 brought together Austin art & tech communities in fun & new ways that have inspired us ever since. We want more of that! We want to unite & create fun opportunities for creatives in our community to thrive. Don’t you?

WHEN | We’ll meet 1-2 times every quarter w/ a few associated side or partner events. Primarily on weekends or weeknights after school & work. Some events will be all ages &/or family friendly. Others may be strictly 18 and up or 21+

WHERE | Locations are central Austin & TBA each event, so join the group & stay tuned!

BRING | Yourself, an interest in art & tech, an open mind, a desire to inspire &/or be inspired. We also encourage you to bring your latest work, earplugs, backup chargers & any portable creative medium of choice

COST/DUES | Events are free or low cost for now. Larger events may be ticketed &/or we may have low monthly membership dues at some point. We agree to give fair warning & to stay committed to accessibility. Let us know how we can help!
