Eric founded Obsidian Software and served as CEO and President for 14 years until its acquisition by ARM Holdings in 2011. Obsidian Software was the leading provider of verification technology and software used in the design of microprocessors.
Prior to Obsidian, Eric worked at both IBM and AMD on leading edge microprocessor designs, some of which failed spectacularly.
Eric’s been involved with a wide range of Entrepreneurial activities since moving to Austin in 1995. In addition to serving as President of the Austin Chapter and Texas Region of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), he’s been involved with a wide range of Austin groups including Centex RCIC, TeXchange, I2P judge, Central Texas Angel Network, …
Eric is a Penn State University graduate with a master’s degree in Computer Engineering. He serves on the department’s Industry Advisor Board and is a recipient of Penn State’s Outstanding Engineering Alumni Award.
