DIU Startup Showcase: Uptake Brings AI into the Motor Pool
Please join the Defense Innovation Unit for an intimate discussion with an innovative Artificial Intelligence startup that received $1 million in non-dilutive capital to bring its predictive maintenance tech into the Department of Defense. This is the first in a series that showcases startups that have worked with DIU to solve national security challenges.
Uptake is a SaaS startup that uses machine learning to read and understand how machines are working and anticipate when they may break down or need other attention. It closed a Series D round in 2017 with a valuation of over $2 billion – but had no Federal/Defense work until the Defense Innovation Unit offered a different way to work with the Federal Government.
Learn from Uptake about what it’s like to grow an AI startup while working with the Government as a design partner to solve national security challenges. We also expect participation from the Army Program Office working with Uptake to truly bring Artificial Intelligence into the motor pool.
You’ll also learn more about how the Defense Innovation Unit has made is possible for startups with the best technology to tackle the toughest national security challenges. Network with like-minded entrepreneurs, technologists, community leaders, and government representatives as we build the National Security Innovation Base together.
Addtionally, we’ll introduce the Texas Defense Innovation Forum (TDIF), a non-profit organization supporting the US science and technology ecosystem through information exchange, knowledge distribution, community organization and effective networking. TDIF will provide a platform for everyone from small companies and entrepreneurs to large defense contractors to identify and understand defense-related challenges, to collaborate in order to deliver complex solutions, and to find assistance in doing business with DoD customers and stakeholders.
Franklin BBQ, drinks, and 3D-printed robots will be provided by Capital Factory.
