We are often drawn to the creative side of our work: generating new and exciting ideas  or working around that nebulous brief. And yes, service design certainly provides opportunity for innovation. But there’s another side to service design: the side that helps us contextualize our research and solutions, the side that helps us ensure we are on the right path.

During our meetup next week we will be discussing innovation. Using IDEO’s Ten Faces of Innovation, we will dissect the dating industry and identify areas that are ripe for disruption.

So bring yourself and your friends and maybe a few strangers down to Capital Factory next Tuesday! This will be a good one, y’all!

Agenda:

We will begin with introductions, followed by a quick overview of The Ten Faces of Innovation. (http://www.tenfacesofinnovation.com/tenfaces/index.htm)

We will break into groups, each group analyzing three different faces of innovation. Using a tool for exploration, we will attempt to identify the most under served face of innovation.

We will spend a few minutes articulating our initial ideas on how to address this face. No sweat! Even just a well-articulated sentence will do.

We will spit our experiences back to the group and have a discussion to wrap things up.
