Debra Hunter Johnson founded Reciprocity Consulting Group in 2007. Using her years of experience as an attorney, HR executive, business owner and community volunteer, she speaks, trains and consults on a wide range of topics including leadership and career development, conflict resolution and negotiations, employee engagement, unconscious bias, harassment, discrimination, 21st century inclusion/diversity and legal issues related to workplace management and strategies.

She offers actionable tips to organizations, teams and individuals to Accelerate Your Wisdom Curve® through strategic narratives about the obstacles and opportunities that professionals face today at work and in their personal lives.

Debra has served in legal and human resources leadership roles in entrepreneurial, large corporate and nonprofit settings. She was Vice President of Global Human Resources Services for American Airlines where she led a team of over 100 human resources professionals in the U.S., Latin America, Canada, and Mexico. Debra was also an Associate General Counsel in American’s legal department.

She works with start-up and growth stage businesses helping them scale and serves as a Mentor at the Capital Factory, a start-up accelerator and the largest start-up investor in Texas.

She obtained a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan and J.D. from Howard University School of Law. She also attended the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship Certificate Program at Southern Methodist University.

Debra has served in pivotal volunteer roles for several nonprofit entities including the Texas Womens’ Foundation, UT Southwestern Medical Center, The Hockaday School in Dallas, TX, The Dallas Assembly, The Links, Inc. and Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas.

Her community service interests center on economic empowerment initiatives, developing confidence and resilience in young people and access to healthcare for all.
