Douglas is the founder and president of Voltage Control, a fractional CTO consultancy specializing in innovation workshops and sustainable product development. Prior to founding Voltage Control, Douglas was CTO of Twyla, Google Ventures backed art marketplace. At Twyla Douglas conducted numerous Design Sprints including several with members of the Google Ventures Design team, authors of the book Design Sprint.
In addition to Voltage Control, Douglas is an entrepreneur in residence at Capital Factory, sits on the board of the Fusebox Festival and is an Advisor to several Austin startups. Douglas has also held leadership roles at Famigo, BuzzStream, Escalation Point, Story Stores and Coremetrics an IBM Company.
Douglas provides a practical strategic voice including: Requirements Analysis, Solutions Architecture, Data Modeling, Database Design, Client/Server & Web Applications (J2EE), Social Network, Budgeting, Process Optimization, Vendor Negotiations, Systems Analysis, and A/V Production.
When not building or investigating new software technology or mentoring young technologists or helping guide nonprofits, Douglas is usually patching up his modular synthesizer, boxing, doing pilates, or watching a documentary. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
