Eldon McQueen: Navigating Change in Aerospace and Beyond Change—the unwavering companion of progress—has been my constant companion throughout my 40+ years in the aerospace industry. From the early days of fixed-wing flight to the dynamic world of transitional VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing), I’ve witnessed technology evolve, adapt, and redefine our skies. Key Highlights: Certification and Engineering: Overseeing the certification and engineering of more than 70 aircraft models has been both a privilege and a challenge. Each design, each innovation, contributes to the ever-evolving tapestry of aviation. From Tube Radios to SOC GPS: The journey from tube radios to sophisticated SOC (System-on-Chip) GPS navigation systems reflects the fusion of hardware and software. As an engineer, I’ve straddled these realms, ensuring seamless transitions. Collaborating with Industry Leaders: My path intersected with giants—General Dynamics, Raytheon, Boeing, United Technologies, Lockheed Martin. Together, we’ve shaped the future of flight, defense, and exploration. Political Engagement: From Austin to Corpus Christi, I’ve championed causes as a U.S. Congressional candidate and Mayor. The nexus of transportation, jobs, and technology fuels my commitment to progress. Advanced Air Mobility (A.A.M.): The horizon beckons—a realm where VTOL platforms redefine urban mobility. A.A.M. impacts economies, ecosystems, and the very fabric of our lives. Education: My journey includes a Bachelor’s in Aeronautics (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute) and a Master’s in Computer Information Systems (Boston University). Teaching software engineering at Columbia College and fostering community outreach have been my way of paying it forward.
