Mike is a seasoned, strategic Industrial Design and Experience Design architect, leading product development programs from research and concept definition, through manufacturing, for over 25 years. He leverages extensive domestic and international experience in strategy, research, definition, design, development, and manufacturing, to bring optimized, best-in-class user experience to products and brand experiences.
Mike advises, mentors, and shepherds strategic product and experience definition and development for multiple local and out-of-state start-ups in the technology and consumer sectors. Prior to that he worked at Dell for over a decade, leading the ID/user experience definition, development and implementation for Dell OptiPlex and Precision branded business PC’s, as well as many other consumer and enterprise systems and peripherals. His work has won multiple international design awards, including Dell’s first Red Dot; Best of the Best. Working previously with HP and Sunbeam/Oster, as well as founding and managing the first expatriate-staffed international design firm in Hong Kong, he has deep experience with consumer products, appliances, mobile phones, outdoor products, and other categories. Mike also has extensive knowledge and experience with product architecture, engineering integration, DFM, materials, tooling, and manufacturing.
Mike particularly enjoys cost-effectively integrating the technology goals of a product with premium experience architecture and design. He brings a continual focus on authentic human/product interface and interaction, to create an optimal and delightful user experience, as well as align with business and brand requirements, driving maximum business success in both hardware and software.
