Every year 40k manufacturers in the US spend $185B on metals. They buy through distribution channels, but these channels are inefficient and transactions often happen via phone and/or email. This leads to customers having limited transparency into their supply chain. The service center overhead (real estate, equipment, fleets, maintenance, etc) is rolled into the material costs and passed onto the customer. Emmet is meant to be the digital steel distribution platform that allows customers to purchase raw material directly from the suppliers that are on the platform. Customers have full transparency into their supply chain with access to inventory views, order tracking, and post sale documentation.
