Steradian Technologies

About Steradian Technologies

Developed at Johnson & Johnson's MedTech Center of Device Innovation, Steradian Technologies has invented the first noninvasive, fully-portable infectious disease diagnostic that costs the price of a latte. The RUMI uses novel photon-based detection to collect and diagnose infectious diseases in breath within 30-seconds. The device will be the first human bio-aerosol specimen collector to convert breath into a fully sterile liquid sample, allowing for many applications in direct disease detection. Steradian has won and received grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Johnson & Johnson, and XPRIZE. The company was named Top 10 Texas Startups and BIPOC Company of the Year in Houston.
