Mesodyne

Mesodyne Inc is a deep tech defense company that has developed the LightCell, the world's first fuel-agnostic, portable thermophotovoltaic (TPV) generator offering 10x the energy density of lithium-ion batteries. Initially developed by Mesodyne's co-founders at MIT's Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies, the patented technology precisely converts heat to light to electricity using specialized low-bandgap photovoltaic cells. The LightCell operates silently with no moving parts, works on virtually any military or commercial fuel, and functions in extreme environments from -40°C to +60°C. Scalable from 50W to 5kW, it targets military tactical power, UAS/USV range extension, and vehicle auxiliary power, with near-term commercial applications in backup power, maritime, industrial, and recreational markets.
